  • Calling all Golfers!!

    2020 ALCS Challenger Golf Classic - Monday, July 27

    The 2020 Challenger Golf Classic is July 27 and you are invited to join the action at the Legend at Bergamont in Oregon, WI. Funds raised support physical education and athletic programs at Abundant Life Christian School. For only $100.00 per golfer, join us for a box lunch and team scramble. Have fun, enjoy the lush greens at The Legend, and support the students and athletes of ALCS. 

    Not a skilled golfer? Join us for a 9-hole option on the same date and location. 

    Find 3 other teammates and sign-up as a foursome or sign up individually and we'll pair you up with other individuals.

    Due to COVID-19 we will not be able to do a shot-gun start but every foursome with get a tee-time to start their round of golf and we will not be able to do a social event afterwards, but it can still be a great time to get out on a beautiful course and help our ALCS Athletic Department raise some money.

  • Summer Office Hours

    Summer Hours- Monday - Thursday, 8 am - 3 pm
    SCRIP can be purchased at Campus for Kids Leaning Center (next door to ALCS).
    Please arrange meetings with staff prior to your arrival. Staff members may be contacted through the staff directory on our website. If no one answers the door upon your arrival, please call 608-221-1520 and select extension 338 or 450.
    You are required to wear a mask when you enter the building.

  • July 13-17-Basketball Camp

    Basketball Camp is ON and is right around the corner!

    When is Basketball Camp?  JULY 13-17
    The number of athletes allowed to be in the gym will be limited. Camps will run in 2-hour sessions throughout the day with a maximum of 12 students per session. Times will be determined based on the number of camps needed. The plan is to have elementary in the morning & Middle School/9th Grade midday or late afternoon.
     
    Who is invited to camp this year? Students entering 4th-9th grade. This camp will include, but is not limited to ALCS students.
     
    What will the athletes be doing in camp this year?
     
    The camp will focus mainly on offensive skills development. Players will improve their ball-handling and dribbling, but the main emphasis will be on shooting. 
     
    Similar to last year, players will do individual competitive contests every day in camp. Scores are recorded so that awards and prizes can be given out at the end of the week. We are committed to creating a positive Christ-centered environment and making camp as fun and engaging as possible this year!
     
    Who is the instructor for the Basketball Skills Camp?
    Two coaches will be in the gym for each session. You will be assigned to either Coach Mike Thies, Coach Josh Vaughn, Coach Rick Zierath, or Coach Barb Schmiesing.
    How do I register?

    When is the deadline to register?  June 26
    How much does camp cost? $50 will cover the registration and a camp t-shirt.
    How do I pay?
    There are two options:
    1) The first week of July you will be sent a payment link to the email address that was filled in on the registration.
    2) Your athlete can bring cash or check (made payable to “ALCS”) to the first day of camp.
     
    What about concerns over COVID 19?
    While we aren’t sure about what restrictions will be in place in mid-July, we are preparing as if Dane County will still be in Phase 1 or Phase 2 of Forward Dane, and the county has put out specific guidelines for youth sports that we will be following.
     
    We are planning on a maximum of 12 athletes and 2 coaches at a time in the gymnasium. Players will be given a clean and disinfected basketball upon their arrival each day at camp to use for that day. At this point, there will be no sharing of basketballs or other equipment. All activities will be performed with social distancing guidelines in place, no more than 2 students will be assigned per hoop, and regular breaks will be planned for hand washing/hand-sanitizing.
     
    What should I bring to camp?
    Bring a pair of athletic shoes, a labeled water bottle, and the registration fee if you choose not to pay online.
     
    As we all know, the COVID 19 situation is fluid. There may be more or less restrictions than we are currently planning for. We can only stay patient and we will be sure to keep you all informed of any changing guidelines that could impact camp.

  • July 20-24-Volleyball Camp

    Volleyball camp is coming up fast, & there is new information we want to share with you. Please understand that the sports regulations are changing daily. We are keeping up to date on everything and will abide by the rules the WIAA has issued.  We aren't sure what the restrictions will be at the end of July. We are preparing for what is allowed now and will keep you posted.

    Volleyball camp is July 20-24.  ** Times may vary depending on the number of campers we have. **

    With everything going on, the maximum number of athletes allowed to be in the gym is 12. Depending on the number of campers, we may have to split into multiple sessions. Since we don’t know the exact number of sessions we will need to offer, specific times of camp will be forthcoming. Currently, the plan is to have high school in the morning and elementary/middle school will be midday or late afternoon.
    Who is invited to camp this year? All boys and girls entering 4th-12th grade. This camp will include but is not limited to ALCS students.

    How do I pay?
    There are two options:

    2) Your athlete can bring cash or check (made payable to “ALCS”) to the first day of camp.
    What about COVID-19? We are planning on a maximum of 12 athletes and 2 coaches at a time in the gymnasium. Volleyballs will be disinfected before arrival each day at camp. We have recently learned that "playing catch" is allowed so we will be able to do multi-player drills.  All activities will be performed with social distancing guidelines in place. Regular breaks will be planned for hand washing/hand-sanitizing.  All equipment will be sanitized daily.
     
    What should I bring to camp? Bring a pair of athletic shoes, knee pads, a towel, (camp will be very cardio/agility heavy this year) a labeled water bottle, and the registration fee if you choose not to pay online.

  • All-Parent Town Hall Meeting via Zoom, 7pm

    ALCS will be hosting an All-Parent Town Hall Meeting which will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 7:00 pm via Zoom. Results of the recent parent survey sent by Mr. Butler regarding upcoming plans for the fall will be addressed in this meeting. Please look for an invitation with the Zoom link coming by email the week of July 20. 

  • HS Summer Volleyball Update

    CAMP: July 20-24  Get signed up for camp.  You can get registered on the ALCS website.  If you have NOT received a confirmation, your registration may have not gone through.  If this is the case please let me know and we can get that straightened out.  We will be in touch soon about camp session times.  

     
    OPEN GYM: Our open gym opportunities will be Tuesday evenings. Please see the attached information for our open gym protocols.  Our open gym times are:
    • July 7 6:00-7:30
    • July 28 7:30-9:00
    • August 4 6:00-7:30
    • August 11 6:00-7:30
    Please go through and fill out this form before every open gym.

    FALL SPORTS MEETING: July 28 @ 6:30  This is a mandatory meeting for all athletes playing sports in the fall. It will most likely be a Zoom meeting. More details will be sent out but please put this on your calendar!
