Serve-A-Thon

Serve-A-Thon is conducted on a Saturday in April after the snow has gone.

Teams of middle and high school students volunteer up to an 8-hour day of service to others and collect donations for their efforts which will be a further blessing. The students and their adult chaperone(s) spend the day going to the homes of widows, the elderly, disabled persons, and other individuals and families with needs. Each team performs acts of service such as yard work, window washing, spring-cleaning, etc.

We serve the area churches that our students represent. In addition to churches, cooperating agencies nominating individuals to be served include: East Madison Monona Coalition for the Aging, Middleton Outreach Ministry, and Stoughton Senior Center.

CareNet Pregnancy Center, Middleton Outreach Ministry, and Youth With A Mission (YWAM) are among the organizations that have been served by ALCS teams. Families and/or organizations from the communities of Belleville, Cottage Grove, Fitchburg, Madison, Middleton, Monona, Oregon, Stoughton, and Sun Prairie have been included in the areas we serve.

Students have the opportunity to determine where their sponsorship donations will be given to extend the blessing of service.  Over the years, we have blessed organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.  Students have chosen to invest in those who fight human trafficking to helping other Christian schools to blessing local organizations/agencies like the American Red Cross and Salvation Army.  They have even supported projects here on our campus.

2026 marks ALCS' 28th year of service through Serve-A-Thon.
