SCRIP Snapshot

Our Scrip Program provides you the opportunity to purchase gift cards for everyday expenses like gas, groceries, clothing, restaurants, etc. Each Scrip purchase results in a rebate that benefits both your family and ALCS.

Abundant Life Christian School partners with RaiseRight and other local retailers who give rebates on gift cards. The amount of each rebate is determined by the individual business. The rebate is split between your family account and ALCS with funds benefiting our Scholarship Fund. Scrip profits earned by your family may be applied toward tuition, lunch costs, sports fees, etc.

Scrip may be purchased daily at ALCS or ordered in advance. Cash and Carry is a great way to get your grocery or gas cards right away — we have them on hand for you!  Plus, we also keep our most popular cards like Culvers, Walmart, and McDonalds on hand as well. Stop by the Business Office during our school hours and pick them up.

Quick Tip:  watch your Scrip profits grow when you get friends and family purchasing Scrip on your behalf!

SCRIP Q & A

Q:  What is Scrip?
A:  Scrip is a term that means “substitute money.”  When you purchase Scrip, you’re purchasing prepaid gift cards that are used just like cash. You can use Scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for our organization and your family's account!

Q:  How Scrip generates revenue for you
A:  The Great Lakes Scrip Center acts on behalf of churches, schools, and other non-profit organizations to purchase large amounts of Scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers.  Because Scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount.  ALCS buys Scrip from Great Lakes Scrip Center at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to families like yours for full face value. The discount, from 1 ½ % to 25% percent is revenue that you can use for your family's school expenses such as tuition, fees, sports fees, lunch, etc.  You will be able to draw on your account profits four (4) times during the school year.

Q:  Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising”
A:   Scrip is a popular fundraiser because families don’t have to sell anything.  Every time you make a purchase, you can produce revenue by using Scrip!  With a little planning, your Scrip account can grow exponentially with the earnings from your regular household purchases like groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, gasoline, and more . . . it can all be purchased with Scrip!!

Q:  How can I participate in Scrip?
A:   You can purchase Scrip directly from ALCS at the Business Office OR you can order online and have it sent to ALCS for pick up.  We provide both paper order forms and Cash and Carry options at the Business Office.
