State Mandated School Closing

On Friday, March 13, 2020, Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ Secretary-Designee Palm, under the direction of Governor Evers, issued an order closing all public and private schools. Public Health Madison and Dane County has issued an order closing all schools in Dane County as of 12:01 am Monday, March 16, 2020.  At this time, unless we are notified differently, school would resume on Monday, April 6, 2020.

Following Public Health Madison and Dane County’s order to close school immediately, the ALCS school offices and building will be closed to the public.

We recognize that students may have personal belongings and items still within the school facility and the details below outline opportunities for parents or students to stop during specific times to retrieve those items.  In addition, we ask that while here a parent or student who is COVID-19 symptom free also retrieve all student textbooks or consumable curriculum as it is the intent of ALCS to adopt procedures to bring instruction to students while they are at home over the next three weeks.

  • In response to concerns regarding the possibility of creating a line of students or parents waiting to get in to retrieve items, we have created a reservation / sign-up system for individuals to reserve a time to access student lockers, materials, and textbooks.
  • Please use this link to reserve a time on either Tuesday or Wednesday, March 17-18, 2020.
  • Please note that one individual per reservation slot will be allowed to enter the building.
Hours for Building Access:

•Tuesday, March 17, from 2:00-4:00 pm

• Wednesday, March 18, from 7:30-8:30 am and from 2:00-4:00 pm

Procedures for picking up textbooks and personal items:

• Main foyer doors will be open during the times above.

• We will use a check-in/check-out system allowing no more than 25 individuals (in addition to staff) in the building at one time

• To provide access to as many families as possible, we ask that you limit the visit to 5-15 minutes.  There will not be opportunity to stop and visit with every teacher.

If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out.
