Band

The band programs at Abundant Life Christian School offer students a way to study music through wind and percussion instruments.  Our program begins in the fifth grade.  The band is open to all who desire to participate.

5th GRADE BAND
The Fifth Grade Band is a beginning group and performs twice a year at formal programs that are held in the fall and in the spring.  Screening for initial instrument placement is done at the beginning or the fifth grade year.  The band then meets four out of five days a week as a regular 45 minute class period during the school day.  The focus of the group is on individual skill development and working those skills together as a group.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND
The Middle School Band is an intermediate level group that is focused on continuing skill development and the refinement of working together as an ensemble.  The Middle School Band performs at two formal programs and also competes at band festival.  We are a part of the Trailways South Conference which hosts a middle school honor band every other year for qualified students.  We are also part of the Wisconsin School Music Association that offers individuals and smaller ensembles the opportunity to distinguish themselves at solo and ensemble festival.  The band meets daily during a regular class period during the school day.  Students coming into the band should have one to two years of playing experience on their instrument.   Arrangements can be made for new students who are interested in playing an instrument to get started.

CONCERT BAND
Our High School Concert Band is an active performing ensemble.  The Concert Band performs in two formal programs a year.  The band takes part in playing at festivals, participating in honor band festivals throughout the state, as well as playing in chamber ensemble groups at a variety of school functions.  The band supports other programs with school spirit, by playing at football and basketball games. We are members of the Trailways South Conference and the Wisconsin School Music Association, taking full vantage of participating in high school honor band every other year and competing at band festival. Our goal is to be prepared for performances inside of our school and our community. The band meets daily during a regular class period during the school day.  Students coming into the band should have two or more years of playing experience on their instrument.  Arrangements can be made for new students coming into the school who are beyond the fifth grade and interested in playing an instrument.
