Abundant Life Christian School, a ministry of Lake City Church, was founded in 1978, with its first graduating class in 1985. ALCS was specifically organized to offer students academic excellence in a Christian context. Current enrollment is 310 students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12, including 115 in the high school.

Families attending ALCS are from the greater Dane County area including metropolitan Madison and its surrounding communities. Two hundred ten families and over 60 different churches are represented in our student body. We are honored that these families and churches have chosen to partner with ALCS for the education of their children.

Due to weather, Hustisford High School was closed today, so the High School Boys' Basketball game scheduled for this evening (Feb 9, 2010) at Hustisford has been postponed.

The Varsity game has been rescheduled to Feb 25 at 6:00 pm (prior to the girls' Varsity game already scheduled). The JV game will not be rescheduled. The team will not practice this evening.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION – The next ALCS box top redemption will be the end of February. Please send in all of the box tops that you have collected this week by Thursday (no school onFriday). The team will process everything we have had turned in this week and send it off in the mail.

PARENT–TEACHER CONFERENCES– Our 3rd quarter conferences are right around the corner, held on Thursday and Friday, March 4 and 5. Signing up for conferences is all done on-line through our Parent Portal. The portal will be ready and open by the end of this week (Friday). Mark your calendar for Friday or the weekend to go online and sign up for your conferences. Please contact us if you need access to a computer to schedule your conferences.

Schedule Changes for MS/HS Students- The deadline to add a class has passed. The last day to drop a class: Wednesday, March 3rd. *Students must maintain a minimum credit load.

NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH- Just a reminder that there is no school on February 12th due to teacher in-service.

VISION SCREENING FOR GRADES K4, K, 1, 3, 5, 7 – The date for this screening has been shifted from Thursday, February 4th to Thursday, February 25th. We are very grateful to Heather Okas who has agreed to help us oversee the screening of students. She will need at least 10-12 parents to help out from 8:00-11:30 AM that morning. Permission slips will go home next week with students in grades K4, K, 1, 3, 5, and 7. Parents wishing to have a child from any other grade-level screened should contact Mrs. Ferge for a permission slip and to arrange for the screening.

REPORT CARD PICK UP – There are a number of 2nd quarter report cards held at the Main Office. If you have not received your student’s report card, contact the Main Office to see if your student has any fine or hold.

DOCTOR’S SCALE – Our Weight Room scale is no longer functioning, so we are looking for a replacement. We are putting out a request for any used scale for use in our school’s Weight Room. Give us a call if you may be able to help out.

SENIOR GRADUATION MONTAGE – Our Senior Graduation is June 5th, 2010 @ 1:00 p.m. in the Lake City Church Sanctuary. Help ALCS present the graduation audience with a unique DVD presentation using video montage, music, voice and still pictures.

-You may submit up to 5 photos of your student from different stages of life.

-In addition, you may submit a few cued, labeled videos or DVD clips of your student as an infant, toddler, musician, athlete, etc for us to choose one (optional)

-Limit the cued clips to 10 – 15 seconds in length per clip.

-Please make sure the scene you want us to use is clearly explained in a note and attach the note to the cued video or DVD.

-Photos and videos submitted will be returned.

-In all your communication with ALCS regarding the senior montage, please include your student’s name on all photos, video cassettes, DVD’s, etc.

As we celebrate more than 30 years (1978 - present), we rejoice in the special honors and recognition that Abundant Life has recently received locally, nationally and internationally. The August 2007 issue of Madison Magazine ranked the 21 Dane County high schools, both public and private. We are pleased to report that ALCS ranked 4th out of 21 schools based on academic achievement, learning environment, and cultural environment. Further, our own Administrator, Mr. Bill Zehner, was named "Administrator of the Year" and ALCS received the "School of the Year Award of Excellence" from the International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA). ICAA serves 125 Christian schools in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. We thank God for these honors and our dedicated staff here at Abundant Life.
