ALCS '13 Grad KateLynn is sharing the good news of Jesus in Brazil!
We love hearing from our alumni and finding out what they are up to today, seeing how they are using their God-given gifts, and hearing how God is working in their lives and through them.  We recently had a chance to reconnec with 2013 grad KateLynn Gerry.
KateLynn attended ALCS from K-12 and was active in a variety of sports and missions projects throughout high school.  After leaving ALCS, KateLynn headed to Texas to go to school at Christ for the Nations Institute.  She recently embarked on a missions opportunity to Brazil.  Below, she shares a bit of her experience with us.

“I was part of a team of 30 students from Christ for the Nations Institute who got the opportunity to be trained equipped and prepared for eight months to go on a three-week adventure to Brazil. We were in one of the most broken states. We went to four different cities and a number of different churches all over the state of Bahia. Each and every church we went to was a different experience. At each church, we did a drama, led worship, our leader preached, and prayed with the congregation. The very first service I was scared out of my mind! I wasn't sure if God was going to be able to use me like that. Immediately when we started praying, language didn't matter anymore. I begin praying in English and tongues and the Holy Spirit showed up! People were baptized and people were healed. One man came up to me with a hunched back. I prayed for him to be healed and made whole and in a minute he was dancing around and crying. From then on everywhere we went more and more miracles happened. We also went to schools with broken, trafficked, abused children. Most of them were involved with prostitution, witchcraft, or drugs. It was so incredible to pour out the love of God on these kids. Another opportunity I had was blessed to be a part of was the drama team. We performed dramas on the streets, in the schools, and in the churches. Wherever we went, God used these skits or dramas to open the hearts of people and touch lives. It was amazing to experience the effects they had in those who saw them.  After each, we would have an altar call. People would come to accept Jesus. Even people from the furthest windows on the streets would watch. God is so good! So many lives were changed including mine which was altered forever through this experience.”

Congratulations, KateLynn!
We are proud of your accomplishments.
