ALCS Missions Trip Volleyball Tourney Fundraiser

February 10, 2013
By Barbara Wiers

Our Abundant Life Christian School Seniors are a hardworking and ambitious bunch!  They are taking their Senior Trip and heading to Panama as a missions trip in which they will be helping a family build a home.

A trip to the Dells costs a few $$, so one to Panama  . . . well, it’s a BIG inve$tment, but these Seniors have been called to this trip and they are working hard to earn all the funding, so that they can not only go on the missions trip, but truly make an impact by helping a family with a home.

One way in which they are doing this is by selling Bucky Books . . .
see a Senior for one and help them with the cause.

Another way that is super FUN for everyone is the . . . (drum roll . . . )

Each February, something special and exciting happens at Abundant Life Christian School – it’s our Annual Taste of the Arts event!!

If you’ve never been to Taste of the Arts, you are missing out on a wonderful evening of fellowship and entertainment!  Taste of the Arts or TOA is a special event that provides fundraising opportunities for our fine arts programs – art, band, drama, forensics, music, and puppetry – as well as showcases the amazing talents of our students . . . which is the VERY best part of the night!

This year’s Taste of the Arts is Saturday, February 23, and doors open at 5:30pm.  The whole night really kicks off at 6p with the welcome, but coming a few minutes early gives you a chance to see the fabulous silent auction baskets, check out the live auction items, and buy your tickets for the drawings.  Then, you’ll enjoy a lovely dinner catered by JL Richards Catering while visiting with your table mates.  Each table seats 8, so you can make new friends as well as visit with your current ones!  During the meal, our student artists perform and they’ll have you saying, “wow!” all night long!!

Then, it’s time for dessert and the live auction where ALCS alum Tim Rockwell not only runs the auction but engages the whole audience while he entertains as well.  Before you now it, the evening draws to a close and while you’ve thoroughly enjoyed the night, you’re left just wishing that it was Friday once again and you still had the Taste of the Arts event to look forward to!

I hope you’ll join us and support the ALCS fine arts programs at this year’s Taste of the Arts.  Reserve your seats today at tickets@mail.alcs.us or call 608.221.1520 and we’ll set aside a seat or two or ten for you today!  (seating is limited, so reserve your seats today J)
