The Sounds of Christmas!

December 04, 2012
By Barbara Wiers

Oh what a blessing it is to finally be in December!  While we are currently wondering if it will ever “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow,” other aspects of the month are beginning to “look a lot like Christmas!”

From houses lit up at night with brightly colored twinkling lights to Christmas trees on top of cars and showing up in living room windows, to happy paper and bows everywhere we go . . . “Christmas time is coming!”

For me, one of the greatest aspects of Christmas is the music.  I simply LOVE Christmas music.  It inspires. It encourages. It delights.  It can make me laugh, smile, and cry.  It takes me back to my childhood.  It makes me think of family.  It reminds me of a precious baby who would one day love me enough to die for me.  It humbles me.  It holds my heart.

That’s the power of music – it gets to our hearts.  ALCS’s music program lays not only a solid foundation of understanding music and teaching an appreciation for music, but it encourages the development of a lifelong love of music.

This Christmas season, we are so blessed with the sounds of the season at our music department’s concerts!  From the middle school/high school choir concert to our elementary concert to our band concert, the air will be ringing with joyous and heartwarming odes to Christmas.  Our talented kids will do their very best to entertain you while uplifting your spirit as they celebrate the ‘reason for the season,’ the birth of our dear Savior Jesus Christ.

Won’t you join us for one or all of our Christmas concerts?

MS/HS Christmas Choir Concert         Dec. 13 @ 7p          City Church Sanctuary

Elementary Christmas Concert           Dec. 17 @ 7p           City Church Sanctuary

ALCS Band Christmas Concert           Dec. 18 @ 7p           City Church Sanctuary

“Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere” that all the concerts are free and open to the public, so bring a friend and come enjoy our celebration of Christmas at ALCS!  Let the music bring “Joy to the World” and lift our spirits to celebrate “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!”

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas!
